Police in Wilkinsburg busted a major drug operation Thursday afternoon that led to the arrest of three suspects.

Officials said Ryan Smeltzer, Roxanne Bittinger and Tawana Hamilton were arrested in the sting.

Investigators said the three suspects had been under surveillance for months before they were arrested.

“It’s a frequent occurrence here,” Wilkinsburg Police Sgt. Wayne McKenithz said. “They come from other counties and see if they can make enough profits to support their own habit.”

Heroin and crack cocaine were among the drugs agents recovered during the raid, police said.
